How long does the HIV test take?

It has been a week and I am still waiting for the result. I thought ELISA is a quick test? Does that means my blood has to go through Western Blot........... I know ELISA can produce false positive but that small 1% chance doesn't seems very promising....

the elisa test can take up to 3 weeks sometimes depending on the lab, most of the time they do this test in batches , so they wait until they have enough to run the test, others may have comments but 2-3 weeks is normal here in florida, sometimes private labs get them back sooner.
