Exposed to a POZ man, 15 days later...
      #229756 - 08/22/07 11:57 PM

Hey everyone, don't know if anyone remembers my first post here. I put myself in a stupid position, insertive anal sex with a man I found out later was poz. It's been over two weeks since the encounter and as it stands right now I'm still ok.

I went to get an STD test done. Gonoreha, Chlamydia, and Syphilis. The Gonoreha and Chlamydia test came back negative, very happy about that. They told me it would be a week or so before the blood test on the syphilis test would be back, and they'd call if I did indeed have it, so I'm hoping that call doesn't come.

As of now I still have yet to experience any ARS symptoms, I've had some fairly bad anxiety attacks that have damn near put me out, but I fought through them. My only complaint at this point would be the irritated feeling I have in the back of my throat, most prominently towards the back of my tongue. This morning it was very itchy and even taking a deep breath made me have to cough. I'm assuming I'm getting a throat infection. I have a friend who works in a doctor's office and she said that strep is going around like crazy right now. So hopefully if I do end up getting an infection that's where it's coming from.

Just writing this to all of you so that you know that I'm still here and hanging on. As the time gets close to test I'm feeling more optimistic that it'll be negative, I'm just hoping I'm right.

as you may have read in here. the fact that you have sex with a poz person does not mean you will get it. yes, it is a high risk, but the HIV virus is hard to get, for what i have heard. actually any other stds are extremely easy to get, and so far you did not.

there have been cases of many people living with a poz person, having unsafe sex all the time, not knowing the person is poz, and they have still test negative.

a guy i know, and actually a bottom, not a top was living with this guy for 15 years, for 10 of those years the top one knew he was poz. the other did not want it to test(afraid) the poz guy unfortunatelly passed. the other guy started a new relationship, and his new partner told him that if he do not get the test, they will break up.
he did, and to his surprise he was, an still negative.
he lives in my town.

just a true story for you to understand that there is people more inmune to viruses that ohters, so keep you chin up, try to relax, and hope for the best.
try to find something to occupied your mind for the next couples of weeks, until you can take the test.

i wish you best.
take care.
