2nd test negative!
      #22842 - 09/30/01 03:12 PM

Hi folks!

I'm happy to report that my 2nd HIV test, taken at 13 weeks (3 mos.) after the risky exposure, came back negative! To me this is good enough and I can now put this incident behind me. I've learned a lot this past three months, learning to deal with the repercussions of my mistakes, learning about the tricks your body can play on you to make you THINK you have gotten infected. Learning there are wonderful, supportive people out there to help you get through this crisis. And learning the only way to be sure is to take a test (or two).

In summary, my exposure was insertive unprotected anal sex with a man of unknown status. No fevers or body aches or anything, but a rash all over the body appeared a little over 6 weeks later. My 8 week test turned out negative. And now, so did my 13 week test.

Thanks to all my Window Buddies like JO1 and sam. Hey sam, go get your test dude! Gather up the courage, you can do it!

I'll stick around for a little while, thanks everyone.

Hey exWorryWart,
Good job with sticking it through.. The waiting is the hardest part.. Stick around and help everyone you met through it all.... 13 weeks is very conclusive. Congrats..

HUGE congrats ex-WW. I am nearly at 10 weeks now, and since I wussed at at week 8, am thinking I might as well wait until conclusive 3 months. I don' think I can go thru this twice.

Once again, I am so glad to hear of your result, please take care in all future encounters. Do you still plan on following your past practive of no-condoms for oral? I wonder if I am being silly, the guy did not even cum in my mouth, yet I am freaking out all day every day since...

Best to you in all,
sam

Hey, thanks for your words sam. In response to your question about if I'm going to keep doing oral sex without condoms. The answer is yes. All my sexual life I have been performing and receiving oral sex with men, consistently engage in the same 'safer sex' behaviors and consistently test negative. Sure, I have my own Rulebook such as, I will not perform oral sex if I have cuts or sores in my mouth, or if I am sick. I will limit and avoid taking cum in my mouth as much as possible. And after all this time, I've done just fine in my HIV tests.

So I've reached a level of comfort as to what I am willing (and unwilling) to do sexually. You have to find your level of comfort in time. I have a feeling as time passes, you will be more willing and more comfortable to increase your sexual inventory. I think that's fine, I think that's healthy! Life is too short, enjoy sex and enjoy life, just be smart about it and play safe. (NO UNPROTECTED ANAL SEX).

Cheers, bro. Stay safe. Take your HIV test!
