Joint Pain? AnonOne? Aids2HIV?
      #225902 - 03/14/07 09:24 AM

Hi all. I had a few questions. When someone experiences early symptoms of HIV, do they all come at once? Or can they come seperately. I have had diarrhea for more than a month now, then I started having testicular pain, my neck hurts when I move it a certain way on the side, and now I have a nagging pain in the joint by my right knee. The joint pain by my knee comes and goes. It will hurt for 2 seconds, disappear and then come back like 2 minutes later.

Is this how joint pain is when it's an ARS or do ALL the joints hurt?

Thank You

ARS symptoms? ARS often occur, but are rarely recorded or documented to occur in most who are HIV positive, for the simple reason the symptoms are no different than average ordinary cold/flu symptoms. They occur 2-4 weeks after INFECTION....and last 10 days to 2 weeks tops, before the go away on their own. From then on it usually on average takes a number of years thereafter, for HIV to destroy your immune system without you knowing you have it, enough for late stages symptoms to show up.....

have you tested 13 weeks post exsposure? if so, whats your status?

the reason HIV isnt caught or suspected is in most part because the symptoms are associated with many common ailments, cold , flu, etc. and when a doctor has treated 100's maybe 1000's in thier city for the flu bug going around, etc. Its easy to overlook HIV infection as a cause....this is no fault of the doctor, YOU as a patient need to step up and request an HIV test. Your health is your responsibility

joint pain and diahrea could be caused by a number of things, even stress or anxiety, however HIV related joint pains are commen in late staged AIDS, along with peripheral neuropathy or a side affect of HIV meds. joint pain isnt common in actual ARS symptoms, usually its overall body aches, like ya get with the flu
