Neuropathy
      #225348 - 02/28/07 12:25 AM

My question is, Has anyone had symptoms of neuropahty, then have tested negative and suddenly all symptoms are gone? I've been told that Neuropathy is something usually found in the latter part of HIV or AIDS. Usually cause by certain mediactions. My other question is, how common is neuropathy in early HIV? I started getting symptoms of neuropahty 3 months after an encounter and my doctor prescribed lyrica and it has helped, I'm terrified of getting tested, but i fear the worse, because my doctor has tested me for everything except HIV and everything else is normal. Just need someone to maybe give me some words of encouragement, having neuropathy is no way to live. thank you for reading my post

Hello,

I'm having severe neuropathy for 6 months now after a risky exposure ( burning hands/feet, electroshocks, tingling all over my body) ... I also have a lot of other symptoms, but I still test negative ( last test 6.5 months after encounter)

Good luck and get tested to ease your mind ...

Sounds like stess/anxiety in both of you. I had the same problem a 2 years ago. It was very scary. But now 2.5 years later...STILL NEGATIVE! Stop worrying so much and see how many of your symptoms go away.

When I talk about PN it is usually as a result of a ARV reaction to that persons nervious system. PN is rarely associated if ever to ARS in my knowledge base. I think you could be bringing alot of this on if you are under going a great deal of stress in your life.. But PN is usually a bi-product of years of ARV therapies and is more previlant in older drug combo's such as Zerit, AZT etc..
