could short illness be a symptom of HIV

i have been sick for a yr with all kinds of symptoms that i mentioned in my previous post, and those symptoms continue and another thing that i have noticed is that if i get sick forsay a cold or flu like symptoms, they last for only a short while, not for a week or many days like the flu normally last, for instance my flu like symptoms could be flaring early in morning and by the evening they could be almost gone or hardly noticeable.......could this be because your immune system is always on guard due to hiv that other illnesses are handled quickly by your system, i don't know it has been a long yr. and at this point i am really searching for what is wrong with me ....
