How soon to test for STD's

So, how soon can one test for STD's other than HIV? Is 1 week enough so that if the tests come back negative, can rest?

HI sweetie..
It is good to wait about 2 weeks for a STD test. I went after a week and they told me that bacteria might not show up yet. Symptoms of yellow, fishy discharge is a HUGE indication that you may have a STD. Let us know how it turns out.
