Dear panicked,
If you live in a major city, there may be free, ANONYMOUS clinics that offer HIV testing. Check in your community papers for any listings. I think a free and ANONYMOUS test site is the best way to do it.
If you don't live in a major urban area, you might have to do it through your doctor. If you don't want to do that, you can buy a Home Access testing kit so you can do it at home.
