Hi guys, Due to miscommunication between the doc and the Quest test center, an EIA antibody test was not done until the 8th day after my blood was drawn - Is the result relialbe? Thank you much.

#1 you should have a test code somewhere on the paper from Quest...if you don't have the paper from Quest get your doc to give you a copy, by law he/she has to. On the website you can look up the test code and it will tell you a lot of things about your test.
#2 When you go to the website above look for the customer service number for the Lab which ran your test...it will be an 800
#3 call them and they WILL TALK to you although they won't give your results but they will ask for the accession # on the paper and they will explain the "specimen" requirements answering your question on the time-line...
From what I know, the specimen for HIV ELISA is very stable can last for weeks....but to be sure and for your piece of mind go to the website and call them and do some research...
Congrats on being NEG!!!
Peace Shane
