Infection vs anxiety and test
      #212690 - 10/25/06 12:18 PM

i had a low/medium risk encounter (had proctected sex, but during foreplay my penis touched her pubic hair, and had oral sex unprotected for small time). since then i exprienced tyrhoid inflamattion (difficulty to breath), light abdominal pain, and recently (after 5 weeks) light discomfort in my bladder and testicles. i had no muscular pain or tiredness whatsoever. i dont know exactly where are the lymph glands are, but have not experienced any "enlargment" in my throat. I never fever also.
can anxiety, which i have a lot, capable of giving me these symptoms??
2. im going to make a test at 6 weeks. can this give me a accurate response to the infection?

Thanks for the help y'all. this is a great site. good health to all.

If the oral sex was just you receiving, then nothing you have said is a cause for concern in regard to HIV transmission.

Your penis touching her pubic hair carries NO risk. Not even when you come back and say, "Yes, but....."

There are no confimed cases of transmission from receiving oral in the entire 25+ year history of this disease.

Yes, anxiety can cause those symptoms and also cause you to notice things about your body that you weren't aware of before you gain a heighten sensitivity to every pain, bump and pimple - that you never noticed before.

You did what HIV eductors will tell you to do. You used protection. Give yourself a pat on the back and relax. You weren't at risk.
