II've been having a mild sore throat for a couple of months now (kinda feels like I've swollowed toothpaste by accident, you know what I mean?).
Anyway, the sore throat turned up pretty much at the same time that I started getting paranoid about HIV (which was 2 months post risky exposure).
I originally pointed it to HIV anxiety as it was too late for ARS symptoms anyway.
Ever since getting a negative ELISA 12 weeks post exposure, I was confident that I can finally put this behind me, but alas, the sore throat still lingers despite my significant lack of anxiety (it's been a couple of weeks since I got my results).
Just to ease my mind, there is no way that this is in any way related to HIV, correct? The only HIV symptoms that would be turning up at this point is the very rare possibility of the early stages of AIDS, but seeing as I got a 12 week negative, this would be impossible.
Right?
...
Riiiiiiiiiight?

Why don't you just go to your doctor and find out the cause of it?
Others may be feeling charitable, but I'm not. You have a conclusive negative, what more do you want? The Moon, the stars....
Get a life.

Calm down.
I was just looking for some reassurance before my eventual visit to the doctor.

negative does mean negative - so congrats - i understand your worry - but a false negative for hiv testing is very, very , very , very rare - you may have a recurring condition in your throat, but your test conclusively means you are HIV NEG - congrats, fix your throat with your dr., and celebrate

Thanks for the help, guys.
My sore throat has actually gone away now, so I see no reason to continue to worry about HIV.
Time to move on. Thanks again, guys.
