      #207021 - 09/13/06 09:05 AM

hallo, here is tom. I have a question for experts. I have read about "immunosilent hiv".(infection without antibodys) Anybody know ,how often it is? And would a pcr detect an immunosilent infection? I have tested for 18 months(hiv1 and hiv2) neg., but I have a lot of severe symptoms and bad bloodwork.(pcr-dna was neg. after 5 and 7 months). Please help, what is immunosilent hiv and how often is it??? Thank you Tom

Sorry, you don't qualify. Just take all those negatives and be happy that you aren't infected.

There are cases when a person would not test postive for antibodies.

HOWEVER....READ CAREFULLY....HOWEVER.

This can occur sometimes with patients that are at the end stage of HIV disease. The immune system has been so destroyed by HIV that it can no longer produce antibodies and yes, these people still will show a viral load.

Now before you even think this applies to you: Ask yourself this. Are you in a hospital, on machines to help you live. Has your doctor told you that there just isn't much more that can be done. If the answer is no, then obviously you don't meet the criteria for having End Stage Disease.

Now run along and quit trying to come up with reasons that you must be infected. You really need to see someone to help you figure out, just why you insist on chasing after a disease you clearly don't have. There must be more relevant things for you to waste your time on.
