I'm really confused. I read yes it's a good test and then no it isn't a good test. Is the PCR DNA Qualitative test reliable after 5 weeks? Yes or No. I was told to move on with my life, but I can't. The idea fo having to take another test is really tough. I did have an exposure to someone with HIV. It was a low exposure but an exposure non the less.
Thanks

Sorry I ask the question, but It would be good to know what kind of exposure, this way it would be easier to recomend a second test.
Any ways 5 weeks is a good time. Have you spoken with a doctor?
Take care

was helping a person who was HIV + cut something, a plastic model with an exacto knife....cut him and slipped and cut me in the smae instance. had to walk about 2 minutes to bathroom to wash up. got sick afterwards, but I think all the symptoms were in my head...I got a cold, stuffy nose and bad head cold, slight fever and swollen galnd in groin only one lymph was swollen, scratchy throat...that was within the first week...got weird spost on tongue, red with white borders...got a PCR DNA test at 5 weeks from day 1, and 4 weeks from symptoms...sypmtoms only lasted a week... not detected. still scared shitless.

A PCR DNA HIV test is considered exclusive at 28 days. No further testing is required.
