All patients who have syphilis should be tested for HIV infection and vice versa. HIV-infected patients may have abnormal (unusually high, low, or fluctuating titers) test results. False-negative results or delayed seroconversion have been reported. Nevertheless, both TP and NT tests can be interpreted in the usual manner for most co-infected patients. HIV-infected patients who have either late latent syphilis or syphilis of unknown duration should have a CSF examination before treatment.

Just what year is this from?
If you have concerns see your doctor about an HIV test and a full STD panel.
Much more proactive course of action don't you think?

Where did you get this info from, and is it true?..I am showing exposed to Syphilis and had a negative 6 week HIV test, and my next HIV test is Sept. 22nd. If this is true, you got me really worried!!!!

I do understand what he is saying. Just read his title....get the picture. He is trying to make everyone freak out. 3 month test is conclusive. Dont listen to anyone trust the 3 month test and move on with your life. As for you "anon" go spread your propoganda and fear mongering elsewhere as no ones going to buy it. If you test at 6 weeks and are negative you can pretty much bet the farm that at 13 weeks you will be neg. Ask all HIV specialist and they will tell you "NO I have never seen someone test at 6 weeks and later test poz" but for CDC to cover their tracks they put a 3 month just to be safe.
