Waiting On A PCR
      #203180 - 08/11/06 05:22 AM

Hi,

I have had 7 HIV tests ( 5 * 4th Gen Ag+Ab, 2 * Rapid Abott Determine ) out to 15 weeks past exposure.

After my 13 wk 2 day test, my wife and I celebrated with some unprotected nookie. About a week later she came down with headache (2 days), Nausea (1 day), Sore Throat (3-4 Days) and Nasal Congestion (5 days)

I panicked and ordered a DNA-PCR and am now awaiting the results.

Have I really gone overboard on this, can I truly, truly trust those negative Elisas'. You always read about late seroconverters etc. and it scares me.

I am sitting here in abject terror waiting for a call from the lab.

Overboard?....NO WAY!!!....you have official drowned yourself in this......Go see a counselor, and ACCEPT your negative results....simply put: you are wasting life, living it like this*

before you get defensive look at what you wrote.....you believed them enough to celebrate with UNPROTECTED sex, only to turn right around and feed into it again.....go talk to a counselor*

Yes you are going overboard!! It will be NEG. Sounds like your wife might have a dog-gone COLD. I understand your fear though. Married men who screw around and then have unprotected sex with their wife or husban are the worst. If a man or women needs additional sex, they must, in my opinion either leave their spouse or fess up and use protection each and every time not only with the additional sex partner but with their spouse as well.. Henry, did you factor in your risk? Was it a known exposure?
