First, let me start by saying this site has been an excellent source of education & inspiration for me over the last couple of weeks - kudos to all of you great people!!!
Here's the scoop: June 16th I was intimate with someone who's status I am unsure of - he stated he was negative when I asked - he attempted anal penetration on me a couple of times... not totally, but enough to cause discomfort - both times I said no & he stopped. There was no ejaculation involved, but there very well could have been some pre-cum.... 4 days later I start to experience what I would consider flu-like symptoms: fatigue/lethargy, low-grade fever and sweats... this lasted about 3-4 days and then I was fine.
Absolutely I will be tested at the 12 week mark - but was curious: Would just 4 days be considered early for showing symptoms of ARS? Or, should I be more concerned about viral hepatitis than HIV?
Looking for that place called "hope"... Thanks!

two early for ARS symptoms, and yes, there are some of STI's that could be passed by contact. From what you describe i wouldnt say you were at risk for HIV infection.
However, Knowing your status is the single biggest tool anyone can have in thier HIV toolbox. Know Your Status, Take the Test*
Good Luck & God Bless*

To come down with ARS in four days would be very unusual.
I wouldn't even be concerned about viral hepatitis, so much as just an ordinary virus, unless you had hepatitis-like symptoms (vomiting, abdominal pain, dark urine, clay-colored stools). And again, to show symtoms from hepatitis within four days would be atypical.
It seems highly unlikely that you would be HIV-infected by the activities you describe, because it doesn't sound like you were penetrated. But pre-cum can be infectious, so if he penetrated you even a little, you ought to get a test. Use condoms from now on!

should I be more concerned about viral hepatitis than HIV?>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
Hep-B is 1000 times more infectious than HIV. Of course there is no need to get it if most would take the time to get vaccinated. Now Ghee, wouldn't that be smart?
