Hi everyone.
i was just wondering. i've been having some strange things going on and i was wondering if any of them are signs of ARS. Short, sharp sporadic pains in my vagina, Swollen lymphnodes in my groin area that hurt and are sensitive to the touch, and some unpleasant discharge. Or is it more likely these are signs of a different type of STD. Also I was wondering. My risky exposure was a one nite stand with unprotected anal and vaginal sex. I was trying to find some statistics and one place said 1 in 3,333 chance of being infected through anal while yet another place said 1 in 50. That's such a big difference I was wondering if anyone else had some more accurate information. Thanks.
-------------------- Exposed on 5/12/06. Awaiting 12 week test on 8/16/06

I think those symptoms are more consistent with another STI. I would seek medical attention however, you also placed yourself at risk for HIV and should be tested at 13 weeks...but the odds are in your favor that you did not become infected...but still must test!

test at 13 weeks for conclusive results, very high risk categories you've put yourself into.....
let me ask you, how many times do YOU think you can do this kind of stuff without protection, before you do actually become infected? I ask because you may not realise it, but you are playing russian roullette with your life. The statistics they all throw out arent accurate at all. The only statistic you should be concerned with is, also a fact......it only takes one time to be infected. Granted, its a fragile virus and conditions have to be right, etc.....but do you know when those conditions will or will not be right for infection if exposed? of course not, no one does....
Your symptoms arent at all commen to HIV, or ARS symptoms....sounds like a cple other STI 's.
I suggest you get a full STD panel, and an HIV test 3 months post exposure AND start making it habit to only have safe sex. We may get 2nd chances at other things in life...but when it comes to personal health, you only get one......Good Luck & God Bless*

It sounds like you may well have some type of vaginal infection. It could be an STD or something else entirely. You ought to see a doctor.
Frankly, I've never been a fan of those statistical reports about HIV infection risks. It's enough to say that unprotected anal and vaginal sex are both high-risk, and if you believe you've been exposed, you should get a test after three months.
