Cooking question
      #201110 - 07/24/06 02:31 AM

If someone gets a little cut while cooking and he actually touches the food, or if blood gets into the food, or if he touches the food with the wounded finger, could I get infected after eating it? Thanks.

It's extremely unlikely that you would get infected that way. Bodily fluid (blood, semen, vaginal fluid) would have to actually come in contact with an open sore, a mucous membrane or enter the body (as in during sexual intercourse or with a dirty needle) to be able to infect someone.

There has never been a case of getting HIV from food. It hasn't happened in 25 years. It isn't going to happen.
