swollen lymph node

I had unprotected sex and a day after that, my lymph node (on right nect) was swollen and I had fever. This is the sixth day, although the fever had retreated, the lymph node has not. The doctor I went to see gave me some antibiotics and told me that Syphilis could be the cause of it as well. Please advise.

ARS symptoms, no way, no how, would occur one day after unprotected sex. ARS symptoms occur 2-4 weeks after exposure.

Unprotected sex does place you at risk, however i doubt the symptoms you experience have anything to do with HIV or syphilis. Symptoms do not appear that soon.
Moreover, lymph node swelling in HIV is generalized and not confined to a particular lymph node location.
