hello,i posted below but it seems people do not know wut im talkin about or do not care. i would like to clear things up since indeterminate is not used in elisa tests. AGAIN, my las possible risk was 8 months ago after having protected sex with a stripper. i tested yesterday and my ELISA rapid test came back DUDOSO in spanish, which means doubtful. are any of u guys aware of this?the doctor told me not to worry because she thinks my current diarrhea and alcohol excess during weekends most probably have depressed my immune system. anyways she told me to have a western blot. PLEASE, any one who has the knowledge, please reply. Thankyou.

Thankyou, but i would like you people to explain something to me. please!!!!!! ill make it easier for you. Indeterminate Elisa results occur when someone is just seroconverting, i have read. In my case, this portected exposure was 8 MONTHS AGO. Therefore, i am NOT seroconverting. would this mean that my indeterminate test result is pretty much a NEGATIVE?????????? PLEASEE REPLY!!!!

Yes it does. You can not contract HIV from the exposure you explain.

well, from what i understand an elisa can give the results: positive, negative and inconclusive. Inconclusive means for some reason the test can't tell.
A western blot is the test used to confirm a positive elisa test or get a result with the elisa is inconclusive, which seems to be your case. it's not unheard of for an elisa to be inconclusive, so i wouldn't be too worried about that. it doesn't make you more likely to have it.
If you had protected sex with the stripper, then you don't have much to worry about, but if you want a concrete answer, do the western blot, preferably without drinking this time.
