You cannot diagnose yourself based on whether or not you are experiencing symptoms of HIV infection. It is true that ARS *usually* occurs within a few weeks of infection, but not every person infected with HIV will experience ARS. And on the flip side, as you may have noticed from some other posts here, many people that *think* they have ARS are not actually infected. So let me repeat - you absolutely CANNOT diagnose yourself based on the presence or absence of symptoms alone.

If you think you have been exposed to HIV, wait 3 months and take a standard antibody test. It's the best and most reliable way to determine your serostatus. But please, if you have any real concerns about possibly having been exposed to HIV, do not gamble with your health or others' by assuming you are fine since you don't feel sick.

Copper's right - at least 50% of newly infected people are and remain asymptomatic. Of course, the fact that you have noticed no symptoms can hardly be called a BAD thing.
