Hi there,
I posted a couple of weeks back about my drunken unprotected sex with a guy I had a one night stand with at Christmas who I later found out had been VERY promiscuous whilst travelling a couple of years back.. Anyway, had test after 4 weeks of exposure and it came back neg. Tested again a couple of weeks back to get a conclusive result and the results were in 2 days ago but I'm having difficulty plucking up the courage to go and collect them. I literally can't face it and I don't know what to do. I can't believe you have to go and pick them up whatever the result, I'd rather they sent me a letter or phoned if something was amiss...I really need to face up to things but don't know how...xx

this is one of the most difficult things to do but just trick yourself and go to the dr's office and get it done. Once u hear the results u will be fine..... let us know!!

Go get those results. I'm confident you'll be fine, if you had only one exposure then the odds are with you, even if the guy did turn out to be positive. However, you don't know this and the chances that he is positive are quite small. Find strength in God and go pick up those results, you'll feel so much better when you find out you're conclusively negative.

If ya tested negative at 4 weeks, you most likely will be negative at 13 weeks too. Go get your NEGATIVE result.
Keep us posted, and my thoughts are with you.

It's best that they require you go pick them up. You need to just suck it up and go. I was scared to get my last HIV test and I put it off for several days and finally I just went. You've already gotten the test done so go see the results. If it's negative you breath the biggest sigh of relief you ever have and if it's positive you'll be in a position to take control and manage the condition.
