I have read that recurrent yeast infections are a sign of HIV. I was tested 2 1/2 months after myexposure and it was negative, yet I have had two yeast infections since. During this time I also started taking birth control pills. Did anyone that is positive ever experience the same? I know yeast infections can be caused by several symptoms but I am 23 and have never had one until my exposure.

Yeast infections are common in the entire female population...not just HIV pos women. Stress could be causing them....as could the birth control pill. Don't diagnose yourself based on a symptom or even constellation of symptoms. Your two month test is VERY encouraging....a three month is conclusive. I'm sure it will be neg....and I'm sure the yeast infections are just that...yeast infections. Eat yogurt....that is a good preventative.
Be safe.
God Bless.

Get a 3 month test!! That is conclusive, although it wouldnt change you 2.5 month result. Just do it for your own piece of mind....Good luck to ya :)

If you tested at 10 weeks, then you're fine. If you feel that you want to retest to ease your anxiety, then that option is always open to you too. Each person has to decide for themselves when they're comfortable with their test results. If you test again, you'll be negative.

yeast infections can be caused by almost anything...a change in diet, stress, sexual partners..condom or lube brands, soaps or bodywashes...gone swimming recently? Chlorine triggers them in some people..even changing the brand of laundry soap you use can cause a yeast infection. Also birth control pills, especially if you've just started them or switched brands. Just because you just barely started having them doesnt mean you are HIV+. I had them a lot before I was +...the frequency of occurance hasn't changed at all. The only way to know if you are + is to get tested...with HIV, symptoms mean nothing.

Well, to be totally sure it's not hiv you should test again, but most people will test positive for hiv within 8 weeks after exposure. If you continue to have yeast infections, go see a gynecologist. You could have another std or just something that needs some fungecide.
