....are in and negative. I realize that I'm probably the only person here who thought they might be something else, but hey - I'm happy now.
So should I stick around or is everyone tired of me yet?
Thanks to all and God Bless.

Congrats. I am not sure at which stage you took your test, but if you feel comfortable with the results, I would suggest you get out of here, learn from this experience, but put it behind you. (Although you have been EXTREMELY awesome to have in this community). If you need to support cycle to ride out the whole window, than keep chatting (you can offer congrats when my tests come back:-)

Congrats! It's great to hear you are happy now :) I'm going to start keeping a tally of times I'm forced to say, "I told you so..." ;)

You know, I really appreciate that statement. I'd love to hang around from the perspective of someone who's been there and done that, but I don't want to overstay my welcome. I'm still going to test at the 3 month window, but more for formality's sake than anything else. If I have something to offer from experience, or from any other perspective, I'd like to keep contributing.
I also know that some folks place limited value on comments from the worried well, and if I'm going to be more of an irritant than a contribution then I need to take a hike (which is, of course, the reason behind my original question.)
Oh, yeah - I took the PCR DNA test at 5 weeks, I can find NO reason to dispute it other than the sake of formality.
Input, anyone?

Hey, Copper? I told *you* so, too.
Peace, my friend - gimme some input on my value here, will you? I have no stake in it other than the chance to lend a hand, so you know........

No reason to dispute it. Listen, the DNA PCR test is looking for HIV itself, the 'dna' equivalent of HIV. It is very, very intensive and accurate test that is used in cases where HIV infection may be highly likely. The medical community woul prefer to not use this as the 'HIV screening standard' b/c of just that, a needless use of time and intensity for many people with low risk encounters. It's time for you to accept your result, realizing that if you were infected your blood draw would literally by this time be teaming with MILLIONS of copies of the DNA. You are simply undectable...NEGATIVE. It is not simply going to change to positive, it's physiologically impossible.
Realize now that if you choose to do an antibody test at 3 mos. it is simply going to be testing for antibodies that are produced to combat an infection for which you've already received medical results that prove you do not have.
Peace. R-anon

Thanks for the advice. I have no trouble accepting the result at all, and I am no longer worried that I may have HIV. I'm also not worried about some wierd, bizarre subtype that may have slipped through, and I don't think I'm in the .01% of the population that may be from Mars, or whatever.... :-)
I will test at 3 months because I truly believe that a confirmatory test is the right thing to do, even if I am quite comfortable with its pre-determined outcome.

Well, you're certainly welcome to stick around and help out as long as you want! I think you give great advice to people here, and I know you would continue to be an asset if you chose to remain with us :) Even though I'm pretty close to being done myself (and by some standards, actually AM done), just being here usually makes me feel better about things in general. So, it's your call, of course, but we'd love to have you! :)
