I tested for HIV at 24 weeks after exposure and I was negative. Should I test after 26 weeks just to play it safe, since technically 26 weeks is six months. Has anyone ever tested negative at 24 weeks and poz later?

Quick SIMPLE answer to this!! You are negative. If you test negative ANY......I repeat ANY time after 3 months, then you ARE NEGATIVE!!!!! No further testing is necessary.
Take care, and protect your negative status!

Negative full stop. If you would have the virus , but negative Elisas, after 4 or max 5 months you will be in a hosptial as you will get some major infections due to lack of defenses. So if you are ok is because you have no virus, and as a consequence not antibodies so provide + ELISA.

The poster above is incorrect, you can have hiv for 10 years and not have any symptoms related to it. everyone is different
but back to the orignal post, if you have tested after 13 weeks of last possible exposure then your are negative end of story.
