hiv so late?
      #194490 - 06/04/06 05:59 PM

I am feeling soooo worn out the last couple of days... tested -ve at 10 months. Could this be hiv? I hear its impossible since I have tested at 10 months via EIA (possible exposure from a sex worker in August 05.... Any opinions???? A friend of mine who is a doctor told me i could have a light "dengue" going on since I was just in a country in latin America were dengue is going around. No fever though. Any advise?

So what you are saying is that you have tested conclusively negative by a couple of different tests and you still don't believe that you are negative.

That's a problem.

For you not us. Either you believe conclusive results or you don't. Your choice.

6 Months is the most conservative Window period for a "KNOWN" exposure. IF you used a condom you shouldnt have even taken the test. If you know 100% that the individual you enganged with was poz then the 6 month window applies..... But 10 MONTHS???? NO WAY

You need to quit thinking you have HIV. You couldn't have it after testing negative at 10 months. 3 months would've been enough but at 10 months there's not even a miniscule chance that HIV is your problem. Keep working with your doctor to try to figure out what may be the cause of your symptoms.

Yes, it is impossible that you are HIV positive after testing negative at 10 months. You should go to see your doctor to discuss your symptoms and get to the bottom of what is causing your health issues.

I don't know about "light dengue," but you can be sure you don't have HIV.
