Hi, if somebody that had hiv spilled a bit of their blood onto toilet paper, and then a minute later i used the toilet paper to wipe my vagina....would that put me at risk? i am extremely worried about this!

Yes, this is a very high risk activity for HIV. Make sure to go to see a HIV specialist as soon as possible. I think you must definitely have it. Have you had any symptoms?

First I think you would know if there was blood on the toilet paper...second, there would have to be blood soaking on the toilet paper and thirdly it would have to be immediately wiping you....to me...doesn't sound like a risk...hiv dies in the air as it is a very fragile disease.

well i was on my period at the time, so it was hard to tell by looking at it after i wiped. i dont think the blood was "soaking" it just looked like it was just on the outer rim of the toilet paper. anyways, thanks for your response...

There is no risk of HIV from what you describe. You need to have sex without a condom with someone infected in order for HIV transmission to occur. Even then, transmission does not always occur. It's a relatively difficult virus to catch.

There is absolutely no risk from this incident. You do not need to worry about having been exposed to HIV.

well what if the time between using the toilet paper was extremely short...say 10 sec after a drop of blood goes on the toilet paper i used it to wipe my vagina. can it even enter the blood stream if it touches the outside of the vagina? ah im stressing but i appreciate your responses.
