Hi Guys
Sorry I am late posting this, got back late from London and was trying to post a message but I took so long posting it that I lost my internet connection in between and thought i would wait until after a nights sleep, make sure i gave you all the right facts.
Anyway the news is that I took a HIV Duo Test - 28 Day Test as I was unsure of my last sex contact with the girl i was seeing. Believe it or not I lost track but i am sure that it was between 10 and 14 weeks, probably around 12. You would think i would remember that wouldn't you?
Anyway apparantly this test checks for both HIV antibodies as well as the 'P24 antigen' to get an earlier result. It was NEGATIVE thank God, and the doctor tells me that it is 99% accurate. This is who they are, in the big posh spot in London / http://www.freedomhealth.co.uk/HIV_Testing.htm . A lot of their patients are HIV positive.
He also said that although I may have had a throat thrush infection originally it is no longer that and certainly not HIV related. Not sure what to make of that as i still have the problem today of coated tounge and sore throat. I just phoned the practice a few minutes ago about it and they restated that the tests are accurate but i am going to speak to the doc about my throat again tomorrow.
What do you reckon? Does it sound okay to you guys?

you are negative for HIV...put THAT behind you now. as for your throat, could anything, with seasons changes comes colds,flu, etc....
Congratulations on your negative results!!!!. Now you know where you stand as far as your status goes. Now practice safe sex, and protect your negative status. Good Luck & God Bless*

Rock on! That's great news.
As for your throat, if your doctor's office is testing for candida (which causes thrush), that test won't mean much. Everyone has candida in their mouths, so a test for candida (usually a culture) would be positive in pretty much everybody. Candida only causes illness when it grows out of control.
I suspect you don't really have thrush at all. I think you have a coated tongue, which is common in healthy people (especially if they smoke), and perhaps some other kind of throat infection.
But as for HIV, as Dr. Bob would say, "Woo Hoo!" You're negative!
