aI Just tested negative at about 6 weeks, but continue to have all the symptoms of ARS and more. When I say more, I also noticed a few times ive had very dark urine, and pale faeces, which I have read is a symptom of HepB.
My question for anyone knowledgeable out there, is:-
Can a Hep B infection cause a false negative HIV test? Especially at 6/7 weeks, and if so what level of probability?
Im running out of ideas as to what is causing my illness, have eliminated a number of dieases already, but still feel STD is my most likely cause, concerned im going to sprial intoone these sad characters who are ill for years with no explanation. Im going to clinic next week for HepB test

If you were to be infected simultaneously with both HIV and HBV (which I highly doubt) it will not render your negative test invalid. It also does not delay the window period any further than 13 weeks. Your 6 weeks test is a great indicator of your conclusive 13 week test for HIV.
The thing with dark urine and pale feces mainly has to do with what you eat and drink and are not highly indicative of Hepatitis infection. If you are concerned about Hepatits and are getting tested, make sure you also test for Hep A and C as they all have simliar symptoms.

Yes same exposure, and becuase I had been so sick for about 5 or 6 weeks I went for the HIV test. Since it came back Neg I have look for other causes.
I am amazed really that more people on this forum do not consider Hep B as a possible cause of there symptoms as well. Although not identical to ARS, a lot of the basics are there and acute Hep Bs a 100times more contagious and many times more common.
. The poster who suggests stress as a cause. Mmmm Naaa I have suffered from stress plenty of times, it doesnt give me clay crap, dark pee, a bodywide rash, and joints that ache so much I can hardly get off the sofa! (You sound like my mom!)

I might sound like your MOM because she is right. You do not have HIV. As far as Hep B get a test. If you are NEG then get a vaccination [3 shots]. You might have been stressed in your life, however I can tell you the stress of thinking you have contracted HIV puts your body into the old Med.syndrome. Just like new Med. Dr. your old body simply gives you all kids of symptoms that originate in your head and yes that does include pale poop. So get your Hep.b test and if it is neg listen to your MOM D.J.

Hi Dj and Von Dutch,
Thanks for the input, and sorry to hear of your predicament Von Dutch. DJ, for your infomration I have had an HIV test before becuase I had put myself at risk. Of course I was stressed, and after the fact, I realised that a lot of my symptoms could be explained away by anxiety. This time is different though. Already had one std treated, waiting on results for several others, as a result of Acute Symptoms, that are both persistant and not physcosymatic......severe body rashes, neurpathy, including now what appears to be damage to an optical nerve....happedn early today, my eyes had been gritty for weeks but today all of a sudden a huge distortion of my vision has appeared, its like a shining wiggly line right across my line of sight, and its there no matter which eye I close.
In UK its very difficult to actually get an NHS clinic, department or doctor to actually assist you in getting to the bottom of something...I mean you GP wont test fo stds, your std clinic wont test for any other cuase, and niether will test for Hepatitis. If you want your GP to really help you get to the bottom of a set of symptoms you almost have to diagnose the bloodyt thing yourself, and event then they try to put you off testing for anything!! The UK health system may be free (well paid for in tax, too much at that) But its crap!!!!
