I recently tested negative using quick at my nearest clinic. I tested outside of the window period which was 7 mths. My concern is that I may have performed the test wrong. I was told to brush my gums for a period o time, then the nurse put the stick in a solution which negative results. The problem having is how do I know if I gave enough for the sample to test out ? hypothetically what would happen if I never brushed agaisnt my gums and gave her the stick back would this yield the same result ? I'm so concerned about this because it took all I had just to take the test. thx for reading

You had an accurate result with the oralquick test. Regardless of whether you swapped your gums sufficiently or not will not yield your test result invalid. As long as one line shows then the sample taken was enough. If there was not enough fluids, then the control line would not have appeared and the test would have been rendered invalid and a retest would be done.
In your case, you do not have HIV.

thx ! I didn't truly understand how that works. I felt that the test was not enough. It was important for me to understand that. I really appreciate the response. thx ! again
