Neuropathy

Hi.

I have been experiencing some strange and disturbing symptoms for 6+ weeks now and was hoping maybe someone could shed some light on whether or not this is possible neuropathy and if so whether this type of PN is ever seen in recently infected people.

I have been experiencing strange persistant deep pains (i.e. not so much sensory as more muscular) in any area of all limbs. They don't last very long (seconds usually) and there seems to be no pattern as to where they strike (shoulder one minute, toes the next).

Along with this I also have like small muscle twitches that, again, occur anywhere. I know usually PN begins in the feet and slowly spreads and this hasn't been the case but I wonder if maybe I am experiencing some kind of HIV related motor neuropathy - would this follow the same pattern.

Also aware that PN rarely occurs in HIV infected people (usually it is due to the meds) but these symptoms just happened to appear a few weeks after a possible exposure and it's all a little too coincidental for my liking.

They have lasted too long to be ARS - does PN ever occur in the asymptomatic phase and ever this quickly? If this was the case (and I was in the asymptomatic phase) I guess I would def test positive in my next test.

Thanks for any insight!

It doesn't sound like PN and I haven't a clue what it could be, but that's what doctors are for.

Go see yours. No sense just guessing about what it might be.

Didn’t you answer your own question?
No that is not PN, but instead of sitting around thinking about what if you could have made an appointment and got in to see your Dr. by now. Darn it now you will have to wait 2 more weeks to get in.
