Does that happen in early HIV?? Or is the fever fairly high?
Im running about a 99 degree temperature do to some sinus/throat issues. (6 weeks past exposure)
No other symptoms. Is this something to be concerned about????

if you were exposed to HIV then you should be tested

Most people who experience symptoms will do so between 2 and 4 weeks although they can occur later. A test now (at 6 weeks) will be very reliable.

I had a test (I am the original poster)....3 days short of 6 weeks.......

Yes.
A negative anytime after 4 weeks is good news. At 5.5 weeks a negative result is probably at least 95% accurate. But please don't think that means you have a 5% chance of having HIV because you don't. Depending on your exposure your chances of being +ve are going to be much, much, much lower than that.

Exposure was with 1 person....1 time only. But unprotected. He agreed to get tested and his was negative. Good news, yes...but who's to say he wasn't still in that "window period".
THATS my worry.

I understand you're worried. However the odds are very clearly in your favour.
We know he tested negative. So he could only have HIV if he caught it during his window period. Lets say he had unprotected sex during that window period with someone who had HIV (which he probably didn't). The risks of one time transmission are about 0.1% Then assuming he did catch it, you would have also had a 0.1% chance of catching it. You tested negative with a 95% reliability.
So thechances of your having HIV in that case is 0.1% * 0.1% * 5% which is 1 in 20 million.
Which I hope you'll agree is very good odds.

Wow. When you put it like that, those are REALLY good odds. Very reassuring..thank you!!
It seems like all the things I see on here, or anywhere else really, stress that "13 week" test. So it has me...well...petrified. Its like I don't get any positive feedback....until now!!!
Thanks again!

I would not worry about a 13 week test , worry about a 6 and 12 week tests. also people are most infectious just after they get HIV

hi
regards from india
The fever exprienced in ARS is usually high. If you feel concerned about HIV, you may want to test.
Goodluck
