How long after "symptoms" would you test positive?

If you actually DO have ARS symptoms, how long after those symptoms would one test positive on an antibody test?
And before any of the regulars jump in with the "you cannot judge by symptoms, if you feel you are at risk, get tested"........I think most of us KNOW to do that. So there's no need for a certain few to do that generic post that they always do.
I'd really appreciate an actual ANSWER to my question...not just be told to "get tested". Because I will be testing. That is not an issue.

In thoery the same day you have symthoms is becuase you arleady have antibodies fighting the infection. However it could be there are not enough to have a possitive test. BAed on that , general assumption is that 3-4 days after sympthoms your test must be positive. If you have sympthos fro a week and have the test negative (after this week) , they these symthomps are NO VIH related. I hope this helps

Search on medhelp.org..i seem to have a vague memory of "Dr. HHH" on there mentioning a study that said by 14-17 days after, 99% will show positive...BUT i can't remember if this was from onset of symptoms or after symptoms..i think onset.... Brianna

oh ha ha ha! Funny!! :) :)
Im going for my "almost" 6 week test tomorrow.....and I don't know (doubt) these "symptoms" I have been having are ARS symptoms, but I thought IF they were....I *should* test positive by now based on the fact I've felt like crap for about 2 weeks now!!!

Most people will test postive by 6 weeks, so if your test is negative you can breath easy.

hi
regards from india
The onset of ARS is the body's response to the HIV virus, ergo, production of antibodies.Once the person experiences ARS, the person should test positive.
