I just recently went to the doctor for a sinus infection that pretty much cleared up within a couple days of taking the first one or two doses of antibiotics.
Thats all pretty much gone, but now a week later I still have a lot of drainage in my throat (ick). Causing not really a "sore" throat...but an irritated one. I don't think my lymph nodes are swollen all over. I do know the one on the right side of my neck is where my throat is the most sore!!!
So are things like this symptoms of early HIV infection???? Its like I just can get rid of this throat/sinus thing. So I don't know if its the cold weather, me still trying to get over the inital sinus infection or even just the fact my house and especially my bedroom is fairly cold...and dry!!!
I've had NO fevers, no rashes, no night sweats, no fatigue, no mouth sores...no anything other than this yucky sinus/throat stuff!!! And like I said, you can actually see the drainage in my throat so I am pretty confident that is whats causing the irritation. (I hope anyway)
I am 4 1/2 weeks past exposure. Tested negative at 3 1/2 weeks.
Just wanting some answers to keep me sane until I go in for my 6 week test....

hmm. Sounds like the remants of a good ol' fashioned cold!
Hope you feel better soon. Get your rest and relax until you get your next testing done.

I have the same type problems. Mine is caused by allergies and polyps that grow in the sinuses. I take Claritin for the allergies and Flonase to help drain the sinuses. It's helped a lot. And this is NOT related to HIV. It runs in my family.

I was wondering about allergies. But I didn't think people HAD trouble with allergies in the winter?????
And Im not really even congested. I can breathe thru my nose fine! But maybe its all just backed up into my sinuses?

actually allergies can be arounda at any time of year. The "spring" Allergies concept is not totally accurate. You can have allergies at any time of year. Ask any doctor or pharmacist

Allergies can happen anytime of the year. You may not be aware of all the things you have allergies to and they may bother you even more if there is a mild winter. I have allergies all year round. Not as bad suring winter months but they are there.

hi
regards from india
Evaluation of your status based on symptoms experienced is not correct. Only a HIV test can give the correct answer to the question regarding your status, provided it is performed at 12 weeks.
Yes, MOST who have been recently infected would test positive within 6 weeks, ergo your test results at 6 weeks should speak in volumes.
