Low WBC from a Complete Blood Count...

I had a Complete Blood Count done for a regular physical exam. The results freaked me out, I have a low White Blood Count of 3.8 out of the lab norm of 4.5-11.0. My Neutrophils percentage was 39.3% with the lab norm of 50-70%. My lymphocyte percentage was 50% with the lab norm of 20-40%. It has been 1 year since my last HIV exam (which was negative-I have been tested once a year for the past 6 years.) I took an HIV exam the day before I got my CBC and I am still waiting for the results. I should find out either Friday or Monday. In the mean time I was just wondering if these results were like anyone else’s who is HIV positive now? I have convinced myself I am positive…(my doc didn't say anything about my low WBC but I researched it and the evidence seems convincing.)

I wouldn't worry so much if i were you.. Your wbc is not so low, and it's not necessarily indicative oh HIV... Furthermore, the fact that your Lymphocyte count is up, must make you optimistic... There are millions of reasons for that counts.. If you feel you have been exposed, you should take the test whether your wbc count is low or not... Please view my post ( think you had all the syptoms right? ) and relax

your white count is barely low and the lympocyte count is normal this is not indictive for hiv infection. you can not diagnose yourself from a cbc , only and hiv test will tell. you are most likely neg , also stress does lower the white count that is why people get sick when they are stressed out. love and peace

hi
regards from india
CBC test is not a test, which will reflect presence/absence of HIV virus, only a HIV test can. If you tested negative last year for HIV, unless you exposed yourself to any other risk, it is unlikely you would be infected again.
Goodluck

I know, that in order to be sure I have to take an ACTUAL HIV test. I have already taken that test and am waiting for the results. The reason I freaked was because of my White Blood Count results. They were out of the labs "normal" range. I searched on the net for "Low White Blood Count" and it seems like everything that popped up had something to do with HIV. Yes, I have exposed myself to other risk since my last negative HIV test that is why I freaked.

4 months after my last risky behavior I am not infected. I am so grateful. I had been so worried. I researched so much about it. I have a better understanding of HIV now and a respect for people who are dealing with their condition that I would have never gained with out my scare. I have a greater appreciation for my life and have made the choice to stop my risky lifestyle and remove people from my life who might entice me back to it. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers this evening.
