Can messing with your lymph nodes make them sore?

...I know...sounds like a stupid question Im sure!
Im just so paranoid about this "swollen lymph node" symptom. I think Im MAKING mine hurt and swell! (If thats possible) I think I push around on them every 15 minutes!! And its only one side thats sore...the side Im pushing on the most!
I know you can't go by symptoms....but Im trying to reassure myself. Im about into week 3 after exposure...with no flu like symptoms as of yet!!! (not that that rules anything out). But, no fevers, no rashes, no anything really.......So Im holding my breath that I stay healthy for a few more weeks.....get me out of that ARS period......
I broke down and tested at about 2 weeks....negative. I know that doesn't mean anything...but it got me thru another week!!! The counselor that did my test told me that those Oraquick rapid tests are VERY reliable by 28 days past exposure. I told her about the things I"d read on here and how everyone says 12 weeks......She had just been to a training session thru the CDC and other agencies and their take on it is the Rapid tests ARE reliable at 28 days. The later seroconversion time is only for people with the compromised immune systems.
So that was reassuring.
Anyway, Im going to test again at 3+weeks. Just to save some more sanity.......

hi
regards from india
Playing and pushing with your lymphnodes can make them swell, so first and foremost stop doing that. If you feel you have swollen lymph nodes, get them evaluated from yourh ealth care provider.
ARS symptoms are experienced 2-4 weeks post exposure. These symptoms are concurrent and febrile in nature. Having said that symptoms should not be used as a tool to diagnose.
You may want to test at 6 weeks, since most who have been recently infected would produce antibodies within 6 weeks.
Unfortunately your 2 weeks result has no relevance.

To clarify....... I meant to say: Ravi, you are the most patient person around. You are always kind in your posts. I just loved it when you said: "Playing and pushing with your lymphnodes can make them swell, so first and foremost stop doing that."
