I know with HIV you can't go by symptoms (so they say). But if one was to experience them, they say you'd have "flu like" symptoms. What exactly does that mean? Is it stomach flu type of symptoms where you can't keep anything down, and you just generally feel like crap? Or is it the achey, high fever, can't move more than two feet type of "symptoms"....
I keep trying to diagnos myself. I've had a sore throat for a couple days (just on one side)..but its gone now. Never had a fever either....or aches or pains.
I think (hope) mine is all anxiety and stress related. I haven't slept for 2 weeks....haven't eaten in that amount of time either. I was on an antidepressant which caused some side effects..then went off of it....which cause other side effects. So Im trying to remain hopeful that this sore throat I had and the little bit of stomach trouble was a result of not sleeping, not eating, stress, anxiety, on medicine, then off medicine.....and not early HIV signs.
Stress and anxiety can do all that to a person correct??
And "flu like" symptoms in terms of ARS are what???

only way to know yer HIV status is to go get HIV tested. No one can accurately guess HIV, not even you. The other things you have described, points a direct need for mental health care, Good Luck & God Bless*

Hey "Anonymous", Not sleeping for 2 weeks and barely eating is going to give you ALL kinds of symptoms. You are making yourself sick! Why don't you tell us your exposure so we can better assess your situation? ARS are generally experienced 2 - 4 weeks after infection. They are generalized symptoms that can be experienced with ANY type of infection as your body produces antibodies to fight the intruder. ARS almost always includes fever (higher than 100.0 F) and can be accompanied with swollen lymph nodes, muscle aches, sore throat, and/ or possible rash. Tell us your exposure and how long ago it occured...

hi
regards from india
ARS symptoms are febrile. They cause a flu-like sickness usually about 2 to 4 weeks post exposure. The symptoms usually last 3 to 14 days and go away on their own, just like any other type of flu.
Dont diagnose by yourself. If you feel you may have put yourself at risk, you may want to test at 12 weeks.
Goodluck
