I JUST BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH HERPES AND I HAVE 2 NEGATIVE ELISAS AT 3AND 8 WEEKS AFTER INCIDENT SEX WITH PRO PART PROTECTED BUT CONDOM FAILED. SO I HAD ALL THE SYMPTOMS. CAN HERPES POSPONE THE DETECTION OF HIV?

i wouldnt think herpes would put off your body making antibodies to the hiv virus if it was present. 3 months is considered a definitive test. i am sure you will remain neg. love and peace

No, it wont. Your 3 and 8 week tests results are quite encouraging, indicating that you are not infected. However you need to test again at 12 weeks for a definitive result.
Do not worry, Herpes is quite a managable condition.
