HELP HELP...ELISA OR WB?

Hi..its me the freaked out blonde. UG!
I had a hiv sceen at 3 1/2 weeks, negative. Then at 6 weeks...negative. But the test paper in the cornor said HIV1/HIV2 WB. Is this the Western blot test??? Don't they do the Elisa first and then the Wb if the Elisa came out positive?? I am a wreck. I called the office and they said they do Elisa first then WB, but that the paper should not state what sort of test was preformed. Am I gong nutts??? I have 6 more long weeks to go. I had 2 unprotected encounters. one in dec one in jan...i am a straight female and they are straight males. Someone help me understand all of this??? PLEASE!!!

Sweety, don't call the office; go in person and show them the paper. They are the only ones who can explain better. My guess is that you are reading it wrong... if you were poz they had the obligation to tell you.. (for many reasons). So, I'm sure you are reading it wrong or there's a printing error.

Spoke with someone at the testing site aabout my test. She said that they do the elisa and wb. She assured me that I was negative! Who knows anymore...I am so worn out with worry.

that is also on every test that comes through the clinic, its nothing. they would tell you if the elisa was pos and they had to do western blot. at least we do.
