blood collection holder

When i got tested for HIV, I noticed that the holder for the vacium test tube had a speck of blood on it. When I questioned the technician, she said that it was just a holder and that speck would not go inside me. I was sure the needle used was new but when she pricked me I noticed the speck in that plastic holder. Am I just being paranoid or could infection occur

Better yet what if that didn't happen but instead it (the speck) was infected and threw off the results of the test you took.

No, wait. What if the speck got into his blood stream. His test result would come back negative and he would still have to be tested AGAIN. Ooh, oooo, and what if the speck held a drug resistant strain of HIV?? Imagine the possabilities!
