I was a big dummy for a long time.Since I was 18(now 29)I have had many, many unprotected sexual encounters, shared needles, pipes, equipment, ect. All of my hiv tests were NEG.I was scared and happy each and everytime! So,After 18 months of absolute abstinence(drugs&sex)I messed up. I had a few sexual encounters and shared a needle. I found out the person I shared with was hiv pos. I bleached the hell outta them needles but still......What if 1 little determined bugger held on?What if it wasn't good enough?Blah,Blah,Blah......The "what if's" will paralize u with fear....Oh yeah a few months back I noticed tongue colored bumps on the very back of my tongue it may be thrush may not be. I go to doc Mon to get the entire kit and caboodle check up. I also have hepc. I can live w/ hepc. It can be cured and managed for a very long time(40+years)HIV no cure,no kids,no more"normal" life as we know it!The slightest thing can kill ya with hiv.Although we can look at magic j. He seems to be living 4-ever.Must be nice to have oodles of$$$. I'm scared which is totally understandable.I avoided hiv for nearly 11 years when I should of had it long ago. Please someone pray for me!!! Bless u all!!!

HIV is not a life stopper either. I do not know what you are thinking. Not any little thing will kill you, just ignorance. HIV is not the disease it was 20 years ago hell for that matter it is not the same as it was 5 years ago. What would you do if you are poz? You would live with it just like we all are. It is, I don't want to say managable, but with the right meds and doctor, you can live a normal life expectancy.

I'm with Fran I've had this for 9 years and counting and I'll be here another 40 years I was an IV drug user although by some weird twist of fate thats not how I got it. but thats another story. People with this illness live very long lives and for the most normal lives.
