Joint pain
      #17489 - 04/20/01 05:11 AM

When you talk about joint pain associated with ARS, Is it more like arhhritis type pain or more like the joint pain you experience with a flu. I been having arthritis type pain for a 5 weeks now along with some sickly feeling and am wondering if it is ARS. I may be infected by some vaginal fluid in a cut

It is more like the flu with an overall achy body and joints. That is one of the FLU like symptoms that are common with ARS.

vaginal fluid in a cut, while possable is unlikley to cause HIV infection. There is so much information out there though it is hard to know who to believe. I just read an article by some misinformed individual that said all body fluids carry the virus and that it can be transmitted by shaking an infected persons hand if they have sweat on it!! If that was the case and HIV transmitted that easily then we would all probably be infected by now. Furthermore , ARS usually does not last for more then a few weeks. I would get an HIV test (3 months after the incident) to ease your worries and if the pain persists see a doctor. it is doubtful that you were infected from the incident you describe.

Can you really be honest here ..... do you REALLY think you were infected from a doorknob?
