Waiting too long!

I went and got tested and my result was meant to be back in 2 weeks. That was 2 days ago and when I went back for my results they told me they still had not come in--As if 2 weeks has not been hard enough!!! And now I am freaking out more--is it taking long because my result came out positive and they are retesting?? At the clinic they told me that sometimes the lab gets backed up and that it would probably be another week...would they just say that? I am so scared.

Yes it can take longer I think if more people are testing and they are behind schedule. Don't speculate anything..not good for u. When I went for my testing after 2 weeks, the guy at CDC told me to come following thursday and had all kinds of thoughts going on. I insisted I see them now and can't wait any more second..they rechecked and found it at a different location. It was negative at 5 weeks.
I think it is normal. Just wait one more week and you'll get it.
On second time, they said i'll get it in 3 days, called 3rd day nurse said doc didn't know it needed to be sent out of state so call next week...I got a call on 4th day indicating of my negative status..that was at 10 weeks.
So it is all part of the process man.

I know how hard it can be. I went through the same thing when I had to get my children tested. The only thing with theirs was they could not find it. After 2 weeks of waiting I had to go back and put them through the agony of that needle again and the agony of me waiting. Don't look to deep in to this. They may be backed up. Good luck!!!

i will try to explain what some labs do, especially public labs and v a labs. they batch the test , meaning they wait until they get a certain amount of vials and then run the test, dont ask me why but this is what they do, it is not unusual to have result delayed with nothing wrong in fact quite common. love and peace
