vaginal infections
      #173662 - 02/06/06 10:29 AM

I aready know the answer, but I need some HELP, to do what I need to do, (TEST).

I am 2 + years from possible exposure. I have not tested because i fear I CAN"T HANDLE THE TRUTH!. I have not had sex AT ALL since my possible exposure, so the buck stops here. But I living like the dead. And I know once I know, I can begin to live again - even if it is my worst nightmare.

I am having every list symptom and been battling bacterial vaginosis over the two year period. After unprotected insertive vaginal I picked up a really nasty vaginal infection and was diagnosed with BV, tested for tric and clamydia sp? and they were negative. I was ok for a while but it came back - coupled with a general feeling of ill. I was just treated for BV last week and it is not gone! WOMEN are there any natural treatments for BV that I can use. How common is this infection in HIV women? I am self employed and unable to produce due to stress and axiety. I also need to take a part time position to supplement, but I am unable to MOVE. I am frozen HELP. Are you lady able to live a normal life with this disease?

Sweetie, BV is a very common infection for many women. You can not diagnose yourself as having HIV from BV. Absolutely can NOT!. I know that getting tested is scarey. But, odds are absolutely in your favor that you will test neg. (you don't mention what your possible exposure was) Try to relax....you will be okay.

Prayers!
Faith

Faith, thanks for your reply. I know it's a common infection in women but recurrent BV is also listed as a common condition in HIV infected women. My exposure was 2 + years ago and was unprotected vaginal sex. Any suggestion regarding "self" remedies for this condition.

No, I don't have any seld remedies. I have only used antibiotics. As for it listed as being common in HIV infected women....so are LOTS of things! HIV is a suppression of the immune system....when your immune system is suppressed you get lots of different infections that people get all the time that are HIV neg. Point being...almost anything you are looking for you will find listed! Don't let it freak you out too much. REALLY. Just get tested and you will be fine

Andy -
Thanks for your reply. I know I do, I know, I do, I know... I am running out of road. I have not other excuses or reasons not to test - I feel like crap. It is either it or it aint! I keep setting dates and resetting them. This fear as turned into a neurosis (sp!).
