FROM DAISEY RE: HER TEST
      #171227 - 01/24/06 01:28 PM

I just got off the phone with Daisey. She was tested at the clinic and the girl told her that she was NEG....Daisey told her to look closely....there was a very faint line. The girl looked and low and behold, there was a very faint line but the girl didn't see it at a regular glance. She started to cry as she almost sent a positive tester away telling them they were neg. The test did pick up the antibodies...but the line was so faint. Frightening isn't it? Well, the clinic was contacting the state today...and they have offered to pay for Daisey to become certified as a counselor. She is happy...she feels that she finally has a reason for all this...so that she could help others. She asked that I post this as she will be away from the computer for a while.

Love ya Girl!

Well, I am the female who asked Daisey to take one more test. Daisey you are so strong I can't even tell you in words how much you are going to be able to do in the future for pos people and negative people. I felt your words as you said that you were going to take the test again. I know that it took major guts to do that. It's so funny how much strength women have when they put there minds up to doing something. I wish I were close to you, you are someone that I would love to meet and get to know. I feel so good that you are going to be put in a position that will make you feel good about yourself, it will help you TRUST ME. That really is some scarey stuff about them sending you away being told that you were neg. It will be people like you that will make sure that that does not happen to other people. I think that so many neg people go in for testing that they just assume you will be neg too. I also think that this is very sad but true, if you don't fit the mold of what they think someone with HIV should look like or live like, they are even more certain they are wright. Daisey, you are going to be my strenght to get me through this, I don't know you on a personal level, but I do know you throgh your words. Stay strong and keep the faith. I e-mailed you my address to write and I would love you talk with you when you are ready. Thank you from all of us who are still in limbo for what you did today. I hope that if I end up being pos I get a job offer. You will get so much from that you don't even know, I think that what happen to you today was a blessing, just wait and see girl. Love always sister!!!

OMG rollercoaster ride for poor daisey is still not over seems like...I would have crashed already with panic attacks if I were on her shoes.. She is so bold and courageous! Is there a better test that would totally confirm I heard of PCR and DNA as some other buzz words...shouldn't that tell completely of her status instead of rapid, elisa, western blot. I feel so sorry for Daisey that she has to go through all this.
I still think she should go for a definetive test and put a rest to all these rides..No one deserves to have it. It is just like telling the family of miners that 12 of them survived by the media at first and telling only one survived after like 2 hours...These kind of things should stop period.
Praying for daisey
Andy

i have had definitive tests. i have tested positive on the eia and ifa and western blot, but by the oraquick i have always been told i am negative.

as for the one who asked me to do this. i was not sure i was going to be able to go through with it. let me tell you, i pulled a set of balls out of my ass. it hurt telling the gal that i was doing an experiment and she was basically my guinnea pig. she was a trooper though.
as for how i feel about all of this... i am just not sure what to think. i never imagined myself actually coming clean and telling the clinic i was doing my own research. i pulled some amazing strength out of all of you supporting me! thank you all so much.
i love each and everyone of you. i posted the complete story under the original post if you want to check it out.
love to all
daisey

Daisey,

I'm the female who asked you to do this again. I love ya girl. I'm scared as hell wright now and I'm getting ready as we speak to go have another test ran on me. I'm going to really be looking at that line. If you could do what you did today than I can do this shit too. I will write back when I get in. It should be a couple of hours. Daisey I wrote you an e-mail, did you get it? I may need some serious help tonight. I'm not getting the EIA test , but I'm trying a new test which scares me it's called the unigold, they say it's a ten minute test and gives good results,Will see.

Why if you have tested postive so are you playing around with more testing under the guise of research. The whole testing issue is way behind you now.

If you are indeed positive it would seem you need to get your priorities in order. Namely put your own health issues first at this point and quit playing with tests you never have to take again.

Time to take hold of your health....HIV is still classified as a terminal illness.....those of us with this disease fight a long battle, but ultimately either the disease itself or the toxcity and side effects of the drugs will do us in. 15,000 deaths from AIDS in the US just last year. Tme to move on and take care of yourself. You are doing yourself a disservice doing this additional testing, no matter how important you think the reason for doing so.

Daisey:

With all due respect for the good you are doing for some here, why do you keep chaning your story abou OraQuick? At various times you have said that did and did not test positive on OraQuick.

An example: On your post <http://www.thebody.com/cgi-bin/bbs/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=infected&Number=160221&Forum=infected&Words=daisey6205&Match=Entire%20Phrase&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Old=6months&Main=160121&Search=true#Post160221>

"They told me that my other tests were false positives. I was told I did not need to be retseted, I was neg. I started doing my own research. I went back to my doctor, told him what happened, even went as far as calling the lab that performed all the blood work, my doctors office even called an infectous disease doctor, who agreed I should be retested by western blot. The specialists office told me I was graspping at straws, that I did not need the western blot, but if it made me feel better, then do it, but I was negative. We immediately did the western blot, it came back positive. I went back to the specialist and asked again how this happened. Again, I got no answers. They did an oraquick at that point and it came back positive."

Alot of people and clinics rely on these OraQuicks tests, Telling people you test negative on OraQuick when u clearly tested positive on it already is crazy, are you still trying to create contraversy?

obviously the only one trying to start shit here is you. if you are going to select certain posts to read and not all of them, then maybe you should keep your comments to yourself, with all due respect i have had this conversation before and justified everything i have said. i am not about to justify things all over again. i do not need anymore stress than i have in my life already.
as i stated in a post later.... yes the tests looked positive to me and it showed a FAINT line. that has already been discussed though as i said before. that test was also after the 3 months and it was also backed up with another oraquick that was negative.
now if you don't like my answers and you don't like the way i handle things and you don't like the fact that i have been tortured by the last 6 months of my life, then don't bother me, because i DO NOT need it.
thank you
daisey

your terminal illness will do you in with your attitude! i am going to live, until i die. i am not going to throw myself a pity party. i am going to hope for a cure, until there is a cure. i am going to have faith and believe that one day, some how one of us is going to beat this thing. i am not going to sit back and tell myself i am terminally ill or i will sound like you.
"those of US with this disease fight a long battle....", you are right. i have a battle to fight for my husband and myself and my children. i am not going to throw in the towel and curl up and die right now. as for how i choose to help others out by taking another test, that is a choice i made. no one forced me. people's lives are at stake and other peoples fates are left in the hands of the clinic workers. so you think that i am doing myself a disservice by testing again? how is it a disservice when now that woman will pay closer attention to the test? if you change one life, even for one moment then isn't it fulfilling and self rewarding? it was for me. i did what i was sent to do. not for me, but for all others.
live with your terminal health in your unrewarding way, but i choose to live a life my children would be proud of. it has always been my goal to earn my angle wings before i die.... well i don't plan on dying anytime soon, but a bus may just decide to take me tomorrow, i don't care. today i worked as hard as i could to earn a feather.
love
daisey

thank you everyone that has stood beside me through all of this. it is obvious to me that the anon poster missed the whole point behind the test today... you know where the test was positive and she dam near sent me off telling me i was negative, but hey whatever. i have just gotten real tired of people bringing up where my story did not match. i am sorry for that confussion, but when you have your WHOLE world turned upside down and are told you are positive, no negative, no positive, wait! no i mean negative, well you could be positive... how the fuck are you to make sense of it, let alone remember every frigin detail? i am sorry. i was on such a natural high when i left the clinic and went back to work and was posting what happened and then i find this post for me. it almost busted my bubble! i was angry at that person and thought oh great here we go again....... but it looks to me like the anon went after eric instead....
some people just need to get a life.
love to you all and much appreciation
daisey
