      #170671 - 01/21/06 09:22 AM

Someone posted (Daisy?) that rapid tests take 10 minutes are anyonymous and sometime free. How do you find out where the clinics are that do this? How far post doyou have to be to do a rapid test vs the other ones? What's different about it?>

actually it is 20 minutes, i was having a blonde moment. any type of health clinic should offer the ora quick. really in my own experience the ora quick did not work, but that was only because my exposure was so soon (3 months). you should be fine to do the ora quick. all they do is prick your finger, like checking your blood sugar if you are a diabetic. they put a drop of blood on the stick and mix it with the solution and wait 20 minutes and then it kinda looks like a pregnancy test, 2 lines your positive, 1 line you are negative.
sorry about the confussion on the 10 minutes. i am not sure where you are from, but i know here in kansas the health clinic told me i could call for my results, i did not have to wait for them. as far as accuracy, my doc swears by it. she says that they are 99% accurate.
hope this helps. if you have more questions feel free to ask.
love
