I just took a test at 7 days post being exposed to hiv. anyone know how accurate this might be or what the percentage is of infected people that will be positiive at this point? i'm not sure of the exact test that was done. The doctor said we should do a "baseline"??? Thanks!!

please read the prevention and the treatment links for percentages etc....personally i suggest a 13 week waiting window ...more than enough time to render accurate testing....

If negative means you were not infected in prior events. However, for your last "incident" it is of minor relevance. I read that major part of the people convert at 2-4 weeks ( 95%) , and most probably the remainng 5% in during the second month. www.aegis.org/askdoc/askd040309.html provides the data. good luck.... I know the feeling

7 day test is useless, baseline test just means that if you were exposed already to hiv, if this is the emt, you are not at risk, winning the lottery would happen first
