What is the deal with oral sex and HIV transmission?
I see people on here who state that oral sex is only a theoretical risk for HIV yet others on here such as here: http://www.thebody.com/Forums/AIDS/SafeSex/Archive/OralSex/Q9080.html
Say oral sex is a real risk for HIV transmission. How much more risk are people exposed to if they have cuts/sores/abrasions in their mouths when they perform oral sex on a guy or gal.

1 in 10,000 chance of transmission through oral sex, while the statistics state there is this chance...there is no known documented cases of transmission in this fashion.

When I bought a Home Access test (the only FDA approved home HIV testing kit), the counselor told me that there have been zero cases of hiv infection through oral sex. She said that the "cuts/abrasions" would have to be equal to if you had just gotten a tooth pulled out, and it was bleeding, and some how semen got up into where the tooth was. She was very reassuring.
