After taking antibiotics for a while (different kinds were described when my uti did not go away) my tongue started to burn and it's white in the back. this has been going on for over two weeks. possible hiv exposure from unprotected sex a bit over 5 weeks ago. I went to a clinic and they looked at my tongue and said i had thrush, then said it could be from antibiotics and the only other time it comes up is in HIV + people. Now i'm SO SCARED. I tested negative at 4 weeks and i'm just waiting to take another test, i guess at 3 months. Does this sound worrisome? do you think I have HIV?? i know symptoms don't necessarily mean you have the disease, but this comes after i've had weird feelings, tingles, and i still have swollen lymph nodes (had strep throat right after the exposure). I am so scared right now.

hi
regards from india
The cause of oral thrush is more likely related to antiboitics than HIV.Your 4 week negative test is quite encouraging, however a 12 week test is warrented for definitive results. As you correctly point out status evaluation based on symptoms is not correct.

I thought thrush was from late hiv progression!

If ARS symptoms disapear on their own does that mean that if you have thrush during this time it will go away on its own also??
