I completely understand the fear about HIV, but what about other STD's? They are more common, more transmitable, and can also have serious consequences. Do/have any of you been tested for others? If so, what, and what do you have to do?

Al Capone died of Syphilis in his late 50s. You can die (although highly unlikely) from gonorrhea if the infection spreads to the brain. Chlamydia can also spread to your brain. But besides other STDs killing people, if not treated early, they can sure leave you in a deep complicated upheaval. Sterility, autoimmune disorders, meningitus, DGI, and many other complications. HIV is not the only sexual threat out there. Most cases of bacterial STD infection go untreated until complications arise do to asymptomatic infection. STI's are very easy to get. Some you can even receive from kissing, sharing a towel after showering, or plain skin contact!!! For all the people who's minds jump right to HIV when symptoms pop-up, think again. Chances are your not HIV poz, but may have another STD. NGU, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Trichmosis, and Hepatitis are WAY more common.
Good luck and BE safe!
